Patient Selection

Since patients will not be charged for any medical services, WE Serv has determined that the following criteria must be met by the area or organization requesting assistance. These requirements were developed to ensure fair and effective execution of the mission:

• Mission is a total of 10 days: arrival date, set- up day, interview with prospective patients, surgeries for 5 days, final rounds, and departure date.
• Patients must be pre-screened for socio-economic conditions by a local government social services and health agencies before the arrival of the medical mission crew.
• Supplies and medicines must accompany the medical crew. Dispensation and distribution of the medicines will be conducted under the supervision of the medical crew.
• Local doctors and nurses must commit to continue post-operative treatment.
• All medical services must be rendered at the nearest hospital or equipped clinic.
• Equipment such as anesthesia machines, autoclaves and suction machines must be available for the medical crew.
