This upcoming mission aims to perform a minimum of 100-120 major surgical cases such as hernias, gallbladders, gastric ulcers, diverticulitis, thyroids, parathyroids, lipomas, cleft lip and palate, parotid mass, goiter, breast mass, myoma, and ovarian mass, as well as minor operations for superficial soft tissue masses and cysts. The location of the mission is the Catbalogan City in the Philippines province of Samar. Volunteers needed include a team of specialists consisting of internists, general surgeons, plastic surgeons, otolaryngologists, gynecologists, surgical assistants, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, ophthalmologists and dentists. Additionally, surgical scrub nurses are needed for major operations. The deadline for application is December 15, 2008. For more information, see the mission description and requirements. |

Medical-Surgical Mission 2009, PhilippinesMarch 15-20 and 29-31, 2009During visits to two locations - Malasiqui, Pangasinan and the Bayambang District Hospital - this mission provided care to patients totaling 205 major and minor surgical procedures. |
